On June 13, 2006, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Martin County (Boys and Girls Club) and Martin County entered into a Lease Agreement for a Boys and Girls Club in Palm City. The initial Lease term was for twenty (20) years. The Lease Premises was used solely for the purposes of providing program services that will inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.
In accordance with the terms of the Lease, Boys and Girls Club may terminate at any time during the Lease period by written request. The building, located on County owned property, shall be returned to the County upon final execution of the Mutual Termination of Lease and inspection by the General Services Department.
Boys and Girls Club has requested termination of the Lease as the Palm City facility is no longer necessary and they will be relocating these services to their new facility at the back of Stuart Middle School, along SE High School Avenue in Stuart.
Boys and Girls Club has executed the Mutual Termination of Lease and will remove all their belongings by September 30, 2024. The premises will be inspected and turned over to the County’s General Services Department until such a time another use is determined.

RECOMMENDED ACTION:
RECOMMENDATION
Move the Board approve the Mutual Termination of Lease between the Boys and Girls Clubs of Martin County and Martin County Board of County Commissioners for the Boys and Girls Club in Palm City and authorize the County Administrator or designee to execute any documents necessary to complete this transaction.
