BACKGROUND/RELATED STRATEGIC GOAL:

In 2023 the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) designated Commissioner Smith to act as the lead representative for the Commission as it relates to the 100th Anniversary of Martin County. Staff has met with Commissioner Smith, constitutional officers, not for profit entities, members of the public, and the Historic Preservation Board. On November 7, 2023 the BCC directed staff to come back with costs associated for the following items for approval:

Logo Conversion - $2,100

Plaque on Historic Courthouse - $5,000 (Attached Proposed Language)

Book - $14,000 ($8,332.00 Design & Production and $5,558 for production)

Staff has also completed the Centennial Website and would like to present it to the Board of County Commissioners:

ISSUES:

Staff is requesting that the Board of County Commissioners set a budget and then to authorize a budget transfer from reserves to fund the various items in which the Board of County Commissioners would like to proceed with. Staff is also requesting approval of the verbiage that will be placed on the commemorative plaque that will be located on the exterior of the Historical Courthouse.
