Martin County entered a 30-year lease with FIND on November 9, 1984, for property located on SE Gomez Avenue, known as Peck Lake Park. In 2014, a Lease Extension Agreement for an additional ten years was entered into extending the term of the Lease to November 8, 2024, with annual rent of $1.00 per year.
This new Second Lease Extension Agreement is being offered to Martin County for an added ten-year term expiring on November 8, 2034, for an annual rent of $1.00 a year. The Extension Agreement also clarifies obligations for Public Records, insurance coverage/sovereign immunity, and registration and use of the E-Verify system.
The United States of America retains the right to deposit dredging spoils in connection with the improvement and maintenance of the Intracoastal Waterway from Jacksonville to Miami. FIND continues to reserve the right to deposit spoils from dredging of the Intracoastal Waterway onto the property. The parcel is solely for public boating and recreational purposes, and conditions of the Lease require written consent of FIND prior to structures or improvements of any kind being placed on the land.
The FIND Board has approved the extension agreement and will execute the document after approval and signature by the Board of County Commissioners.
