BACKGROUND/RELATED STRATEGIC GOAL:

 

Shahid Shaikh Haleem Estate Fine Reduction Request

This Fine Reduction Stipulation and Agreed Recommended Order involves a parcel located at 5532 SE NASSAU TERRACE, STUART, FL 34997, Martin County, Florida.

On January 20, 2021, an Order Finding Violation was issued by the Code Enforcement Magistrate to Shahid Shaikh Haleem, for the following violation(s): Section 67.201.B - Nuisance Declared: Trash, Etc. General Ordinances, Martin County Code, Section 21.115 Roof and Drainage - General Ordinances, Martin County Code.


Compliance was required by February 28, 2021.  On December 2, 2021, an Affidavit of Transition and Accrued Fine and Costs was issued reflecting an outstanding fine of $ 26,400.00 plus costs in the amount of $ 575.00.

Staff has determined that a lien reduction is warranted.  The respondent was responsible for the violation; the County brought the property into compliance under Unsafe case ENF2020090500, and the Personal Representative have offered to pay $2,697.50 to resolve the outstanding fines which have accrued.

RECOMMENDATION

Move that the Board accept the Magistrate’s recommendations that the lien on the property be reduced to $2,697.50 and accepted as full payment.
