BACKGROUND/RELATED STRATEGIC GOAL:

The Board of County Commissioners advocates both in the state capitol in Tallahassee and in Washington, DC for both policy measures and appropriation requests on behalf of Martin County. The state and federal legislative priorities are outlined in the legislative program. The county also contracts with legislative and environmental consultants to ensure the county's priorities are more strongly represented at both the state and federal levels.  This presentation will outline the 2025 state and federal priorities and discuss the strategy for the legislative team as Martin County enters another year advocating for a range of topics including environmental restoration, water quality, infrastructure improvements, and home rule.
