In 2022, Daher Aerospace, Inc. (Daher) took over a 30-year lease entered in 1994 with Grumman Aerospace Corporation, for premises at Martin County Airport/Witham Field (MCA).  In 2024, Daher submitted a response to Request for Proposal 2024-3552 and was awarded a new lease which will run for a term of ten years, with 2 ten-year extensions.  The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reviews leases at MCA.  The current lease will expire on October 31, 2024, and an extension is required to provide for the FAA review process of the new lease.

BACKGROUND/RELATED STRATEGIC GOAL:

3.                     Purpose:  Six (6) month extension of existing lease to provide time for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to review a proposed new lease and make recommendations to the County.

5.                     Duration:  Six (6) months through April 30, 2025.

 

6.                     Benefits to Martin County:  Provide time for FAA review of proposed new lease. Prior to submitting for Board consideration.

 

7.                     Costs to Martin County:  None.
