As required by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Program Management Bulletin, the Martin County Board of County Commissioners is asked to adopt a resolution supporting the FDOT funding of a project in the County’s rights-of-way, which is anticipated to be prioritized by the Policy Board of the Martin Metropolitan Planning Organization.

BACKGROUND/RELATED STRATEGIC GOAL:

 

It is anticipated that the Martin Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Policy Board will approve a list of prioritized projects for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) to include in its Five-Year Work Program, beginning July 1, 2026.

 

One of the projects involves improvements within the County’s rights-of-way in which the County shall deliver design and construction for the project described as follows:

 

Facility:  CR-714 / SW Martin Highway

Limits:  SW Fox Brown Road to 1580 feet west of SW Green Farm Way

Description:  Roadway and Safety Improvements

 

The Board is being asked to adopt the resolution supporting FDOT funding with County delivery of design and construction of roadway and safety improvements on CR-714 / SW Martin Highway.

RECOMMENDATION

Move that the Board adopt the Resolution supporting the FDOT funding for roadway and safety improvements on CR-714/SW Martin Highway.
