On Monday, November 24, 2025, AIPP staff evaluated 16 eligible artist applications submitted for the Hobe Sound Public Library Mural Project Call for Artists. Each application was scored across five criteria: Artistic Quality & Concept (30 points), Artist Experience (35 points), Community & Cultural Resonance (20 points), Proposal Execution (10 points), and Statement of Interest (5 points), for a maximum possible score of 100 points.
Staff recommends the following top three scoring artists for the Artist Shortlist:
• Nick Albano - 88 points
• Nathan Delinois - 88 points
• Daniela Sanchez-Vegas - 86 points

BACKGROUND/RELATED STRATEGIC GOAL:
The Hobe Sound Public Library has recently been renovated through the generosity of a local donor. The library seeks to commission an artist or artist team to create a vibrant mural that highlights the joy of reading and the library’s unique natural surroundings. The funds are available in the AIPP capital budget. The cost of this mural is $10,000.

This item has been reviewed for legal sufficiency to determine whether it is consistent with applicable law, and legal staff have identified and addressed legal risks and developed strategies for legal defensibility, as applicable.

RECOMMENDATION
Review AIPP staff’s recommended shortlist of artists and select one artist to recommend to the Board of County Commissioners for final approval for the Hobe Sound Public Library Mural Project.
