BACKGROUND/RELATED STRATEGIC GOAL:
McArthur Golf Club, LLC was granted a Road Opening Permit to open SE Constitution Boulevard from SR-5 (SE Federal Highway) to SE Circle Street in Poinciana Gardens. The road will provide an alternate egress for the residents of Poinciana Gardens. When the road is opened, the additional traffic volume at the intersection on SR-5 (US-1 / SE Federal Highway) will warrant a traffic signal at the intersection. Staff has obtained permission to install the traffic signal from the Florida Department of Transportation. The Board of County Commissioners awarded the contract to construct the traffic signal and related roadway and lighting improvements to Carr Construction, LLC on September 10, 2024.
The Board of County Commissioners is asked to adopt a Resolution that authorizes the installation of the traffic signal.

RECOMMENDATION
Move that the Board adopt the Resolution authorizing the traffic signal on SR-5 (US-1/SE Federal Highway) at SE Constitution Boulevard.

FISCAL IMPACT:
RECOMMENDATION
The traffic signal and related roadway and lighting improvements are funded through the Capital Improvement Program for Intersection Improvements.
