BACKGROUND/RELATED STRATEGIC GOAL:
Martin County Fire Rescue’s Emergency Management Agency and the School Board collaborate in the best interest of public safety by providing facilities, necessary personnel, and supplies and transportation assistance for evacuations related to the provisions of shelters in times of emergencies. The mutual understanding is that the school board will provide certain school facilities for emergency shelters as well as personnel to staff such shelters. Martin County deployable staff are also assigned to the shelters for staffing.
