The Dixie Highway/Pettway neighborhood is currently served by well water. The Potable Water Main Extension Project (project), located in Hobe Sound, is being funded by a grant from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. Martin County has agreed to construct the necessary infrastructure to provide potable water, which will be transferred to SMRU upon completion.
Phase 2 and Phase 3 portions of the project require Utility Easements and Sidewalk Easements from property owners of approximately forty-eight (48) parcels identified in Exhibit “A” of the Resolution.
The Real Property Division will continue to obtain the necessary easements from the property owners, will confirm ownership of each of the easement areas upon receipt and prior to recordation, and obtain the necessary Consents of Mortgagee, where applicable, and for any encumbrances on the property.
Sec. 139.31 and 139.32, General Ordinances, Martin County Code, require that any conveyance of an interest in land to Martin County for any public purpose shall be accepted and approved by Resolution from the Board of County Commissioners of Martin County.

RECOMMENDATION
Move that the Board adopt a Resolution accepting and approving Utility Easements and Sidewalk Easements conveyed by approximately 48 property owners as identified in Exhibit “A” of the Resolution and authorize the Chair to execute all documents associated with this transaction.
