BACKGROUND/RELATED STRATEGIC GOAL:

The Martin County Parks and Recreation System Master Plan is the roadmap for how the County will plan, manage, and improve parks, open spaces, and recreation programs over the next decade.

The last plan was adopted in 2016, and County policy requires that it be updated every ten years to keep pace with community needs and growth.  This new plan meets those requirements and follows nation best practices set by the National Recreation and Park Association’s accreditation standards, helping Martin County remain eligible for grants and other funding opportunities.

The updated Master Plan keeps Martin County aligned with its Comprehensive Growth Management Plan and focuses on providing high-quality, accessible recreation for residents today and in the future. The full plan and summary presentation of the planning process are included with this agenda item for your review and public discussion.
