Previously, the County was authorized to impose a maximum civil penalty not to exceed $500.00 for a violation of an ordinance related to animal control. The law has been amended to allow the following: First Violation: Amount not to exceed $2,500.00 Second Violation: Amount not to exceed $5,000.00 Third and subsequent violations: Amount not to exceed $7,500.00 Staff seeks input from the ACCOB as to whether the ACCOB recommends changes to the current penalties; and if so, the recommended amounts.
