BACKGROUND/RELATED STRATEGIC GOAL:

* Agreement/Contract drafted by - 911 Region 6 participating Counties.
* Parties to the Agreement/Contract - The Board of County Commissioners for Charlotte County, Collier County, DeSoto County, Glades County, Hardy County, Hendry County, Highlands County, Lee County, Manatee County, Monroe County, Okeechobee County, Sarasota County, St. Lucie County, and Martin County Board of County Commissioners.
* Purpose of the Agreement/Contract - On May 9, 2023, the Martin County BOCC accepted an MOU to join Florida 911 Region 6 projects. The Chairman signed the MOU on June 9, 2023. Since then, two additional counties (Manatee and Sarasota) requested to join the 911 Region 6 projects. As such, the MOU requires a fully executed Addendum for the additional counties to participate. An MOU between the participating counties for each region is required by the State of Florida E911 Board to receive multiple year grant funding to support Next Generation 911 (NG911) systems and services. Further improving our 911 Network to become interoperable within the region with other 911 systems.
* New/Renewal/Modified - Modified
* Benefits to Martin County - Participating in the Florida 911 Region 6 projects will provide for the NENA i3 NG911 standard requiring the county 911 agencies to support interoperability and share accurate location information as the transition from legacy 911 systems to NG911 systems evolves.
* Cost to Martin County - None
