This is a request for the Board to approve the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding ('Agreement') between the University of Florida (University), through its Cooperative Extension Service (Extension Service) and Martin County (County), which Agreement establishes the respective responsibilities of each party and outlines the goals and objectives related to the provision of education programs and outreach to the public in Martin County.

BACKGROUND/RELATED STRATEGIC GOAL:

1. Agreement Drafted by:
This Agreement was drafted by the University, the Parks & Recreation Department, and the County Attorney's Office.

2. Parties to the Agreement:
This is an agreement between the County and the University.

3. Purpose of the Agreement:
The purpose of the Agreement is to establish the responsibilities of each party and to outline the goals and objectives as listed in the Agreement.

4. New/Renewal/Modified
This is a renewal Agreement between the County and the University.

5. Duration of the Contract:
The term of the contract shall begin on October 1, 2024, and shall continue through and until September 30, 2026.

6. Benefits to the County:
The Extension Services Program provides oversight for all of the programs listed below to Martin County residents.
7. Cost of the Contract to the County:
The County, through its Board of County Commissioners, approved budget for FY25 is $264,276.49. No additional funds are being requested.
