The Community Redevelopment Agency (“CRA”) owns a parcel of real property located at 16870 Charleston Street, Indiantown, FL (the “Property”), within the former Indiantown Community Redevelopment Area. As a result of the dissolution of the Indiantown Community Redevelopment Area in 2018, the Property is now recommended for transfer to the Martin County Board of County Commissioners.

BACKGROUND/RELATED STRATEGIC GOAL:
The Indiantown Community Redevelopment Area was dissolved in 2018 due to the incorporation of the Village of Indiantown, thus rendering the Property unnecessary and unsupported for redevelopment by the Martin County CRA.
Although title to the property is vested in the CRA, this is an intergovernmental transfer, consequently the usual statutory rules for property disposition do not apply.
LEGAL SUFFICIENCY REVIEW:
This item has been reviewed for legal sufficiency to determine whether it is consistent with applicable law, and legal staff have identified and addressed legal risks and developed strategies for legal defensibility, as applicable.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
1. Move that the Agency transfer ownership of the Property to the Martin County Board of County Commissioners.
2. Move that the Agency direct the CRA Chair to execute the deed effecting the transfer and any other documents necessary.
