BACKGROUND/RELATED STRATEGIC GOAL:
Pursuant to Section 155.38.C., General Ordinances, Martin County Code, "The County Engineer will request the Board of County Commissioners adopt a resolution acknowledging the roads that were opened by recorded plat or road opening permits ( ... ) each year. The resolution will include the road name, classification, length, limits, pavement width, material, stormwater management technique, road right-of-way width, sidewalk width and location, maintenance responsibility, and other factors that the County Engineer feels suitable for the road inventory."
There have been five plats recorded in unincorporated Martin County since July 1, 2025, which were approved administratively and not by the Board of County Commissioners. These plats opened five new road segments as depicted in Exhibit A. The following road segments are: local roads that will be within newly platted rights-of-way that are owned and will be maintained by a private entity; and posted with a 25 MPH speed limit.
