The Board is asked to review and authorize staff to proceed with advertising the RFP, on DemandStar, for proposals to purchase and redevelop the parcel dedicated as surplus and owned by the County, in Old Palm City, located on SW Martin Highway between SW Palm City School Road and Danforth Creek.

BACKGROUND/RELATED STRATEGIC GOAL:

On October 10, 2023, the Board directed staff to acquire a 5.76 +/- acre property in Old Palm City at the northwest corner of Martin Highway and Old Palm City School Avenue. The property was purchased on November 2, 2023, as approved by Resolution No. 23-10.4.

The Board directed staff, on March 5, 2024, to draft an RFP for approval prior to solicitation, for the surplus sale and redevelopment of the parcel. Pursuant to Florida Statutes ?163.380 staff drafted the RFP. The County may accept such proposals as it deems to be in the best interest of the public and in furtherance of the purpose of Florida Statutes Chapter 163, Part III.

The proposal will be in accordance with the Old Palm City Community Redevelopment Plan, and consistent with the Martin County Comprehensive Growth Management Plan and the Martin County Land Development Regulations.
