BACKGROUND/RELATED STRATEGIC GOAL:
In August of 2022, an application was received by the Growth Management Department for an animal processing facility located on approximately 2,000 acres in western Martin County.
The facility eventually received a determination from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services stating that the facility and related project was exempt from local government regulation. On April 4, 2025, staff received a notice request to officially withdraw the site plan application.
Staff will provide the background and timeline regarding the application.
