HISTORIC ARCHITECTURAL SURVEY

end

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

executive summary

At the August 18 meeting, Board members requested that staff provide a copy of the City of Stuart’s Historical Survey for review. This will allow the Board to examine the scope of work used as part of its research and discussion on updating Martin County’s Historic Architectural Survey, which was last completed in 1997.

Staff was also asked to look into potential funding opportunities. The Department of State, Division of Historical Resources, administers both state and federal funds for historic preservation. Small Matching Grants provide up to $50,000 for eligible projects, including survey updates. The next application cycle opens in April 2026 for Fiscal Year 2028 funding.
