Purpose of the Agreement/Contract: The Interlocal Agreement with Martin County will fund the removal of approximately 98,442 cubic yards of Crossroads dredged material from the St. Lucie Inlet Impoundment Basin in an amount not to exceed $2,071,820.00

Duration: October 1, 2026 – September 31, 2027.
Benefits to Martin County: A reduction in County costs to construct St. Lucie Inlet O&M project allowing the Crossroads material to be beneficially used for placement on the County’s beaches. Removal of the material will also restore capacity within the impoundment basin for future St. Lucie Inlet maintenance activities.
Cost to Martin County: Staff time to administer the Interlocal Agreement
In Spring of 2026, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and FIND dredged the Intracoastal Waterway (IWW) and Okeechobee Waterway at the Crossroads in Martin County. The project placed approximately 98,442 cubic yards of dredged material in the St. Lucie Inlet Impoundment Basin for temporary storage.
