BACKGROUND/RELATED STRATEGIC GOAL:
The Florida Legislature addition of subsection (4) amending 341.071 F.S. requires Public Transit providers starting November 1, 2024, and annually thereafter to certify that its budgeted and general administrative costs (as defined by 341.071F.S. (4)(a) are not greater than 20 percent above the annual state average of administrative costs for its respective tier as determined by FDOT at a publicly noticed meeting of its Governing Board. FDOT has determined the state average of administrative costs to be 20.25%. Martin County Public Transit (Marty Bus System) is a Tier II agency and has determined the 2024 administrative costs to be 1.26%.
ISSUES:
As a recipient of Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Block Grant funds, Martin County Public Transit (Marty) is submitting the Certification of Administrative Cost for FY2024 by the BOCC, pursuant to Section 341.071(4)(b) and (d), F.S.
