The proposed First Amendment to Interlocal Agreement between Martin County and the Town of Jupiter Island provides for the renewal of the current Interlocal Agreement for highly skilled first responders for the Town to ensure emergency medical services and fire protection support are available to residents, guests, and visitors of the Town on a 24-hour basis. The renewal commences on October 1, 2027 for a five (5) year term through September 30, 2032.

BACKGROUND/RELATED STRATEGIC GOAL:
Agreement/Contract drafted by: Martin County Fire Rescue and the Town of Jupiter Island
Parties to the Agreement/Contract: Martin County Board of County Commissioners and the Town of Jupiter Island
Purpose of the Agreement/Contract: This purpose of this Interlocal Agreement is to provide twenty-four (24) hour first responder Advanced Life Support (ALS) services and fire protection support to the Town.
New/Renewal/Modified: This is a renewal of the Interlocal Agreement.
Duration: Five (5) year with a five (5) year renewal option.
Benefits to Martin County: Provision of emergency medical services and fire protection support to the residents and visitors of the Town of Jupiter Island.
Cost to Martin County: There is no cost to Martin County. The Town will pay the County $1,159,274.07 for the first year of the agreement. On October 1st each subsequent year, payment will be increased annually by the Consumer Price Index expenditure category for Hospital Services. In no event shall the increase by less than 3%.
