BACKGROUND/RELATED STRATEGIC GOAL:
On April 11, 1989 the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) adopted a resolution establishing the Land Acquisition Selection Committee (resolution is attached). The committee evaluated and recommended County land acquisition policies, procedures, standards, criteria, strategies, schedules, and priorities. The committee received and reviewed individual proposals nominated for purchase and made specific comments and/or concurred in land acquisition recommendations to acquire recreational lands and preservation of environmentally sensitive lands using the bond referendum funds.
On January 17, 2014, the Land Acquisition Manual was updated and approved by the BCC (attached).
The bond referendum funds were extinguished in January 2024, the last Committee meeting was held on February 9, 2011 according to the Environmental Resources Division, and the members' terms have been expired for several years. Therefore, staff is recommending approval of a Resolution (attached) to sunset the Land Acquisition Selection Committee.
