GILLIE AND MARC TEMPORARY PUBLIC ART OPPORTUNITY
end
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:executive summary
At the March 24, 2025, meeting, the Public Art Advisory Committee directed staff to pursue the opportunity of a one-year loan for the bronze sculpture “It Was a Windy Day They Would Never Forget” by internationally renowned artists Gillie and Marc. Upon reviewing potential sites, staff identified The Patio at Palm City Place as the most suitable location for this temporary installation. As a result, the proposed artwork was presented at the Old Palm City Neighborhood Advisory Committee meeting held on April 21, 2025, where a motion to accept the installation was approved.
Staff is now working on coordinating the logistical details, including confirming the exact placement, assessing any structural engineering needs, and identifying potential costs associated with installation.
