EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:executive summary

The Art in Public Places program’s annual budget funds operating costs, maintenance costs, and capital project costs.  This is a request for approval of the FY 2024 budget.

BACKGROUND/RELATED STRATEGIC GOAL:

The AIPP Capital Projects Budget utilizes 70% of all revenue for the purchase, creation, installation, engineering, signage and public art programs (i.e., mural program, sponsorships, competitions, events, etc.), whether temporary or permanent. The proposed AIPP Operating Budget, utilizing 30% of all revenue, will be used for maintenance, repairs, administration of the art inventory and program management costs.

 

Capital Projects:

1. Manatee Gateway Pelicans

2. ArtsFest 2024

3. Re-allocate Rio Roundabout dollars

4. Hobe Sound Library

 

Maintenance completed:

1. Manatee Gateway stainless and teak benches

2. Gresko sculptures

3. Hobe Sound Beach

 

Maintenance planned:

1.                     Sailfish Splash murals

2.                     3 Bronzes

3.                     Gresko sculptures

 

LEGAL SUFFICIENCY REVIEW:

This item has been reviewed for legal sufficiency to determine whether it is consistent with applicable

law, and legal staff have identified and addressed legal risks and developed strategies for legal defensibility, as applicable.

 

RECOMMENDED ACTION:

Move that the PAAC approve both Art in Public Places program budgets, Operating and Capital Projects, for FY 2024.
