South Martin Regional Utility (SMRU) has requested approval of Utility Easements for utility assets along three County-owned properties known as the Hobe Sound Public Library, Doc Myers Park and Pettway Park, and a Utility Easement for utility assets within the County right-of-way along SE Washington Street, SE Williams Drive, SE Pettway Street, SE Dennie Drive, SE Lundy Street, SE Rohl Way and SE Dixie Highway for the Gomez/Pettway Potable Water Mains Installation Project in Hobe Sound.

The Pettway neighborhood is currently using well water. The Water Main Extension project, located in Hobe Sound, is being funded by a grant from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. Martin County has agreed to construct the necessary infrastructure to provide potable water, which will be transferred to SMRU upon completion. County staff coordinated with SMRU to address utility assets along County-owned property and within the County right-of-way and to offer Utility Easements to ensure continued service and main...
