BACKGROUND/RELATED STRATEGIC GOAL:

Sheriff William D. Snyder faithfully served the State of Florida and Martin County for over fifty-one years. Of those fifty-one years, he served the citizens of Martin County for thirty-one years, with twelve years as the Sheriff. During his time as Sheriff, Sheriff Snyder continuously inspired those around him to be better. In doing so he led by example, with physical fitness being no exception. Sheriff Snyder envisioned and led to action numerous physical fitness programs, fitness centers, wellness incentives and elevated the office's training unit. Naming this building the "Sheriff William D. Snyder Fitness and Training Center" honors Sheriff Snyder's service and his relentless commitment to fitness and bettering those around him.
