EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
executive summary
On November 30, 2010, Martin County entered into a reciprocal agreement with ITS Telecommunications Systems, Inc. for the sharing of fiber optic network facilities. The agreement gave fiber network access for Martin County to portions of the County west of the Florida Turnpike where ITS had previously installed fiber. In addition, ITS Telecommunications gained access to the Martin County owned fiber east of I-95. This agreement was for ten years with up to four 5-year renewals. This agreement has been mutually beneficial for both parties and staff recommends renewing the contract for an additional five years.
