On February 7, 2023, the HSMC presented a plan for proposed addition to the Elliott Museum with added parking. The Board directed staff to work with the HSMC on an Amendment to the Lease expanding the lease area, which includes the land adjacent to and south of the museum (former location of Fire Station 14) on Hutchinson Island.
The current Lease consists of approximately 4 acres and the Lease Amendment will provide for an increase of 1.10 acres giving the HSMC a little over 5 acres of lease area. The added property was the former location of Fire Station 14, which has been demolished and property is now vacant.
The First Amendment to Lease provides additional vacant land sufficient for the Museum to raise funds and develop more concrete plans for the future addition to their current building...
