Martin County has historically been providing Building Official, Inspection and Plan Review services to the Town of Sewall's Point on an as-needed basis via an Interlocal Agreement (IA). The Interlocal Agreement is being renewed for another 12-month term, as well as being updated to streamline future extensions and adjust fees to reflect current costs.

BACKGROUND/RELATED STRATEGIC GOAL:

1. Agreement/Contract drafted by: Martin County.
2. Parties to the Agreement/Contract: Martin County and the Town of Sewall's Point.

3. Purpose of the Agreement/Contract: Building Official, Inspection and Plan Review Services.

4. New / Renewal / Modified: This is a renewal for another 12-month term with updates for future extensions and fees.

5. Duration: This IA provides for one year of services effective October 1, 2026, with annual options to renew.

6. Benefits to Martin County: Intergovernmental Cooperation.

7. Cost to Martin County (annual and potential total): All costs to Martin County are recovered by the Interlocal Agreement.

ISSUES:

The County Administrator and the Town Manager are authorized to renew the IA on an annual basis.
