BACKGROUND/RELATED STRATEGIC GOAL:

The District 19 Medical Examiner has provided medical examiner services at a building located at Indian River State College's (College) Fort Pierce Campus via an Interlocal Agreement among the Medical Examiner, the College and Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River and Okeechobee Counties since at least 1988. The proposed second Amended and Restated Interlocal Agreement provides for a continuation of such services at the College facility as well as funding using the same formula.

2. Parties to Agreement: Medical Examiner for District 19, District Board of Trustees of Indian River State College, Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River and Okeechobee Counties

3. Purpose of Agreement: To provide for medical examiner facility, services and funding.

4. This is an amended and restated agreement.

5. Duration: 15 years, expires September 30, 2033.

6. Benefit to Martin County: Provision of medical examiner services in accordance with Florida law.

7. Cost to Martin County: Based on unified annual budget presented by Medical Examiner and annual calculation of rental and operating expenses via the formula in Section 4 of the Interlocal Agreement.
