BACKGROUND/RELATED STRATEGIC GOAL:
The Public Works Department received a request from residents of the Pettway Community to reduce the speed limit of on CR-A1A (SE Dixie Highway), between SE Lares Avenue and SE Washington Street South, from 45 MPH to 35 MPH. Staff evaluated the characteristics of the corridor and performed a speed study that supports a reduction in the posted speed from 45 MPH to 40 MPH on CR-A1A (SE Dixie Highway), between SE Lares Avenue and SE Cross Rip Street. Graphic depictions of the existing and staff proposed speed limits for CR-A1A (SE Dixie Highway) are attached.

Move that the Board adopt a Resolution to lower the posted speed limit from 45 MPH to 40 MPH on CR-A1A (SE Dixie Highway), between SE Lares Avenue and SE Cross Rip Street.
