BACKGROUND/RELATED STRATEGIC GOAL:
The Martin County Standard Details for Road & Site Construction and Public Facilities (Martin County Standards) are updated regularly to keep current industry standards and practices for improved safety and quality control. On January 10, 2017, the Board adopted a resolution accepting revisions to the Martin County Standards in its entirety. Staff is requesting approval, by resolution, of additions, deletions, and revisions to the Martin County Standards.
New details include:
• R-39: Stabilized Construction Entrance
• R-43: Meandering Sidewalk
• R-60: Pipe - Structure Connection (Replaces Tree Grate)
• R-140D: Traffic Control
• R-171: Edge Lit Sign
• P-15: Fixed Bollard
The following details were removed:
• R-100: Bus Pull Off
• P-10: Monument Sign
The remaining details were revised to refer to the latest industry standards, to provide additional clarification, to be consistent with other details, and to eliminate redundancy. Specific revisions to existing details include:
• R-30: Updates the asphalt pavement type to the latest standards
• R-38: Revises location of geotextile key
• R-40: Increases curb transition length from 3 feet to 6 feet
• R-41: Updates the notes to the latest standards
• R-81: Revises signage and dimensions to provide additional clarification
• R-90A: Adds optional central island
• R-90B: Revises notes and dimensions
• R-91A: Modifies driveways and culvert details and notes
• R-91B: Modifies driveways and invert details and notes
• R-100: Replaces Bus Pull Off with Tree Grate
• R-110B: Adds curb transition detail
• R-120A: Replaces Crosswalks (Paver Bricks) with Crosswalk
• R-120B: Replaces Crosswalks with Crosswalk (Stamped)
• R-140B: Adds school zone, dead end, no outlet, and ADA signage
• P-20A: Removes the fixed bollard detail from plan
The Table of Contents reflects the proposed additions, deletions, and revisions of the details. Finally, a Statement of Intent was added.
