BACKGROUND/RELATED STRATEGIC GOAL:

1. Contract Drafted by: Martin County Legal Department
2. Parties to Contract: Martin County and the Historical Society of Martin County
3. Purpose of Contract: For the Historical Society to provide programing and operate the House
of Refuge.
4. New/Renewal/Modified: New Contract, but similar contacts have been executed in the past.
5. Duration of Contract: October 1, 2019 through September 30, 2022.
6. Benefits to the County: This contract provides for public programming and management of a
Historic Facility in Martin County.
7. Cost to the County: $76,606.00 plus utility costs.

The Historical Society of Martin County currently operates the House of Refuge pursuant to a three (3) year Management Agreement with the County that expires on September 30, 2019. The Historical Society has requested a new Management Agreement to continue operation of the House of Refuge. The proposed Management Agreement has been updated for a new three (3) year term and for consistency and is otherwise the same as the current Management Agreement.
