BACKGROUND/RELATED STRATEGIC GOAL:

 

The current makeup of the Drug and Alcohol Abuse Awareness Committee is as follows:

1.                     City of Stuart

2.                     Clerk of the Circuit Court

3.                     Martin County Board of County Commissioners

4.                     Public Defender’s Office

5.                     Martin County School Board

6.                     Martin County Sheriff’s Office/Jail

7.                     State Attorney’s Office

8.                     Town of Jupiter Island

9.                     Town of Sewall’s Point

10.                     Treatment Representative

11.                     Circuit Court Judge - 19th Judicial Circuit

12.                     Two (2) Private Citizens - Resident of Martin County

13.                     Youth member (non-voting)

The proposed change to Resolution 19-11.3 is to change the 11th category of Circuit Court Judge - 19th Judicial Circuit to be a non-voting member, at the request of the Chief Judge. The Drug and Alcohol Abuse Awareness Committee recommended approval of the requested change.

 

The Board is requested to adopt a Resolution appointing Chief Judge Lawrence Mirman to the Circuit Court Judge - 19th Judicial Circuit non-voting member position and to appoint Quintina Harris to the Martin County School Board member position to replace the current member, Theresa Iuliucci at the request of the School Board.

1.                     Move that the Board adopt the Resolution amending Resolution 19-11.3 pertaining to the Drug and Alcohol Abuse Awareness Committee.

2.                     Move that the Board adopt the Resolution appointing Chief Judge Lawrence Mirman to the Circuit Court Judge - 19th Judicial Circuit non-voting member position and to appoint Quintina Harris to the Martin County School Board member position.
