BACKGROUND/RELATED STRATEGIC GOAL:

On April 3, 2020 the Board had a special meeting to discuss the coronavirus (AKA COVID-19) and its impacts specifically to Martin County (County). Communication efforts and communicating with residents and the general public was a topic of discussion. It was recommended that the County consider hiring a specific public safety position to assist current staff with messaging through various means.

A job description was developed and recruitment began the week of April 6, 2020. The posting will be open through the week and closed accordingly. Staff is requesting approval by the Board to add an additional FTE to the FY20 budget. The starting salary as advertised is $60,140 and is consistent with similar positions within the County that perform communication and marketing duties and have the same level of training and skillset.
