The Dixie Highway Resurfacing project is part of the long-term vision for the Golden Gate community. It is largely focused on enhancing safety for vehicles, bicyclists and pedestrians through the addition of medians and crosswalks and enhance the community as a whole with bike lanes, new landscaping and lighting.
After years of thorough vetting throughout the community, the project began construction in August 2021, after which the staff of the Public Works and CRA departments received additional input from some of the surrounding community members. They were unhappy with the median design. A redesign was accomplished, and the project will continue based on these changes. Chris Goetzfried, Martin County Capital Projects Administrator will be in attendance to present those changes and answer any questions.
