Krista Storey has been a Senior Assistant County Attorney for 25 years. Ms. Storey is and has been an extraordinary, dedicated and gifted attorney and will be deeply missed. Ms. Storey has provided legal guidance and counsel to the County's Growth Management Department during many challenging and exciting times over the decades. She has also served as the attorney for the Building Department, Code Enforcement, Local Planning Agency, Board of Zoning Adjustment, Community Redevelopment Agency, Contractor's Licensing Board and the Historic Preservation Board.

BACKGROUND/RELATED STRATEGIC GOAL:

It is difficult to adequately describe Krista Storey's contributions to Martin County over the last 25 years. She has served as legal counsel to the Growth Management Department providing legal review on all development applications and Comprehensive Plan amendment applications. She drafted amendments to the Land Development Regulations as needed for review by the LPA and BOCC. She served as legal counsel to many advisory boards, including LPA, BOZA, CILB, CRA, NACs and Historic Preservation Board which included providing Sunshine, Public Records and Ethics law training to all advisory board members.

Krista was indispensable in assisting our litigators in defending lawsuits, including Comprehensive Plan and LDR challenges. She served on the County's team from GMD, Community Development and the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council that worked for years to create a CRA chapter for our Comprehensive Plan and to ...
