BACKGROUND/RELATED STRATEGIC GOAL:

FS 420.9075 (10) requires each county to submit to the FHFC a report each year of its affordable housing programs and accomplishments. The 2015/2016 SHIP grant is fully encumbered, but a few projects have been delayed due to Hurricane Irma, and the SHIP grants for 2016/2017 and 2017/2018 are active. SHIP requires an interim report for the active grants. The Martin County Affordable Housing Advisory Committee (AHAC) will have a public meeting on September 5, 2018, which is after the submittal of this item, to consider a recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners for the transmittal of the reports for approval and submission to the FHFC. Submission of the reports will provide compliance with the SHIP grant requirements.

ISSUES:

Due to project delays, an extension has been requested from FHFC for the 2015/2016 SHIP grant close-out report, which will be brought forward for Board of County Commissioner approval once all the encumbered funds have been spent.

LEGAL SUFFICIENCY REVIEW:
