As part of the requirements within Chapter 252, Florida Statutes, and Rule 27P-6.006 F.A.C., which require the development and maintenance of a Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP), the compliance criteria for the CEMP also includes identifying a backup EOC facility. This Agreement would provide for the City of Stuart's EOC to serve as a backup facility.

BACKGROUND/RELATED STRATEGIC GOAL:

* Agreement/Contract drafted by: Martin County Board of County Commissioners.
* Parties to the Agreement/Contract: City of Stuart and Martin County Board of County Commissioners.
* Purpose of the Agreement/Contract: As part of the requirements within Chapter 252, Florida Statutes, and Rule 27P-6.006 F.A.C., which require the development and maintenance of a Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP), the compliance criteria for the CEMP also includes identifying a backup EOC facility. The backup EOC facility can serve as the County's EOC in case the County EOC is unusable in some manner and there is a need for coordination to continue in order to provide for the public safety and well-being of residents and is reciprocal should the City need to utilize the County EOC and their facility is unusable.
* New/Renewal/Modified: This is a new contract.
* Duration: The terms of the agreement are for five years.
* Benefits to Martin County: Ensures there is a backup facility that can be utilized to plan, prepare, and respond to a disaster should the County's EOC be rendered unusable.
