Every year the Board of County Commissioners adopts a state and federal legislative program that outlines the county's legislative priorities. This presentation discusses the proposed 2022 Legislative Priorities as well as discusses the successes and direction of the legislative program for the upcoming year.

BACKGROUND/RELATED STRATEGIC GOAL:
The Board of County Commissioners advocates both in the state capitol in Tallahassee and Washington, DC for both policy measures and appropriations request on behalf of Martin County. The state and federal legislative priorities are outlined in the legislative program. The county also contracts with legislative and environmental consultants in order to ensure the county's priorities are more strongly represented at both the state and federal level. This presentation will outline the 2022 state and federal priorities as well as discuss the strategy for the legislative team as Martin County enters another year advocating for a range of topics including environmental restoration, water quality, affordable housing, infrastructure improvements, and home rule.
The presentation will be submitted via a Supplemental Memorandum.
